Of everywhere we cover, Westbury is the place where the station-lot habit is strongest. The Main Line stop here draws drivers from well beyond the village, the lots around it are large and they fill early, and a car parked there at 7am is not touched again until after seven in the evening. That is twelve hours of a vehicle sitting still, which from our side of the trade is a gift. There is no reason a cracked windshield should also cost you a vacation day.
The village itself is a mix that keeps us busy for other reasons. Post Avenue runs the old downtown with angled parking and shops, while Old Country Road and the roads around Brush Hollow Road and Merchants Concourse carry warehouse and office traffic all day. Between the parkway ramps to the south and the commercial roads to the north, Westbury cars pick up a lot of stone. We see plenty of windshields where the damage was three small chips before anyone got around to calling about the fourth.
Westbury is bigger and more varied than the villages closer to us. Post Avenue is the traditional main street with kerbside parking and a steady turnover of shoppers, and it runs north to south across the middle. Old Country Road forms the southern spine with retail and offices, Ellison Avenue and Brush Hollow Road carry the commercial traffic, and the Meadowbrook and Northern State parkways both have ramps within a couple of minutes of the village. The Main Line runs east to west with the station and its commuter lots sitting in the middle of all of it, which is where a large share of the village leaves its cars each morning. Mobile jobs here are usually easy: the station lots have space between rows, industrial parks have plenty of room, and residential streets north of the tracks tend to have proper driveways.

Westbury drivers do more parkway mileage than most of our customers, and parkway mileage is where windshields get hurt. Merging traffic at the Meadowbrook and Northern State ramps means constant close-following and stones flicked off the car in front at speed, which lands as a star or a bullseye rather than a scuff. The industrial roads around Brush Hollow and Merchants Concourse add a second source: gravel and debris tracked onto the pavement by trucks pulling out of yards, then spread down the road by everyone else. Cars left in the big station lots all day face a different risk again, which is the smash-and-grab. A door window goes in seconds, and the owner discovers it in the dark at the end of a long commute.
The simplest run is west on Old Country Road through Carle Place and into Mineola, then north on Willis Avenue to Williston Park, where 708 is a short way up. Fifteen minutes is realistic outside the peaks, longer if you hit the retail traffic mid-afternoon. Jericho Turnpike is the alternative if you are starting from the north side of the village, and it lands you on Willis Avenue a few blocks from us.
